Fisk, Huston-Tillotson take home Week 3 HBCUAC Volleyball Weekly Honors
NEW ORLEANS - September 2, 2025 - Fisk University outside hitter Reagan Jones claimed Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Attacker of the Week. Nialah Gupton and Shelby Chamblin repeated as Defender and Newcomer of the Week. Nebthet Re garners Setter of the Week. Huston-Tillotson University's Hayley Broussard earns Freshman of the Week. The ladies were recognized for their performances between August 25 to August 31, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Jones, the 2025 HBCUAC Preseason Player of the Year, recorded 63 kills in six matches - helping Fisk to a 4-2 week. Her high of 19 kills led the Lady Bulldogs to their first victory over Freed-Hardeman University in program history. Jones also recorded two double-doubles against Freed-Hardeman and Crowley's Ridge.
Gupton reached a career milestone with her 1,000 career dig in the victory over Freed-Hardeman. For the week she recorded 97 digs, averaging 4.41 per set. In five of six matches, Gupton recorded double-figures. She received 97 balls for a .970 receiving percentage. Offensively, Gupton provided seven service aces.
Re, who is returning after sitting out most of 2024 due to injury, put up 114 assists, averaging 5.18 per set. She recorded a high of 33 against Freed-Hardeman. In Saturday's victory over Crowley's Ridge, Re recorded a double-double with 22 assists and 11 digs. She contributed 34 digs and nine service aces.
Broussard led the Rams with 18 kills and a .293 hitting percentage during the Texas Two Step Tournament hosted by Texas Wesleyan and Nelson Universities. She had a high of nine kills in a sweep of Red River Athletic Conference school Louisiana Christian. Broussard also led the Rams front row with 12 blocks.
Chamblin contributed in all areas of the floor during Fisk's six matches last week. She recorded 47 kills, including a high of 13 against Freed-Hardeman University. In that same match, she recorded a double-double with 12 digs. For the Week Chamblin, tallied 61 digs and 11 service aces.

About the HBCU Athletic Conference
The HBCU Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) is the only HBCU conference in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
