Dillard's Byrd, Wiley's Tutt-Moutouo take home Week 5 HBCUAC Women's Track and Field Weekly Honors
NEW ORLEANS - April 7, 2025 - Dillard University women's track and field athlete Kevell Byrd claims Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week and Wiley University's Meeyesha Tutt-Moutouo wins Field Athlete of the Week. The women were honored for their performances between March 31 and April 6, the conference announced Tuesday.
Byrd posted two national championship qualifying finishes, earning her second weekly honor. She finished runner-up in the 200-meter dash, competing mostly against National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) athletes. Her time of 23.84 surpassed the 'A' qualifying standard. Byrd ran 11.76 in the 100-meter dash, passing the 'B' qualifying standard. She ranks in the top 10 of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics in three events.
Tutt-Moutouo was within a meter of the qualifying standard in the triple jump and had a podium finish in the long jump to garner her fourth weekly honor. She ranks in the top 50 out of HBCU athletes in both events. Tutt-Moutouo is the defending conference champion in the long jump and high jump.
