Huston-Tillotson, Paul Quinn win Week 3 HBCUAC Women's Soccer Weekly Honors
NEW ORLEANS - September 15, 2025 - Huston-Tillotson University forward Caroline Valencia garners Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Offensive Player and Newcomer of the Week. Citlaly Vences captures Defensive Player of the Week. Paul Quinn College's Miranda Tapia earns Freshman of the Week. The women were honored for their performances between September 8-14, the conference announced on Monday.
Valencia netted both goals in a 2-0 victory over North American University on Sunday. It was her third game-winning goal of the season. She ranks third in the conference with four goals.
Vences picked up her second weekly honor after posting her first career shutout against National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III school Concordia University Texas on Wednesday. She made six saves in the contest. Vences leads the conference with a 1.27 goals against average and a .846 save percentage.
Tapia recorded a hat trick and an assist in a 12-0 rout over Arlington Baptist University. Four of her five shots were on goal. She helped Paul Quinn split three matches last week.

The HBCU Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) is the only HBCU conference in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
