Voorhees, SUNO, Tougaloo claim Week 4 HBCUAC Women's Basketball Awards
NEW ORLEANS - November 18, 2025 - Voorhees University forward Kierra Diggs wins Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Offensive Player of the Week. Southern University at New Orleans forward Hannah Cornelius garners Defensive Player of the Week. Tougaloo College guard Bre'Nai Amos takes home Freshman of the Week. Forward Shalayne Morgan earns Newcomer of the Week. The women were honored for their performance between November 10-16, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Diggs put up 22.5 points per game in two contests last week. She had a high of 33 in a victory over Paine College on Saturday. She shot 56.3 percent from the field and contributed seven offensive rebounds and three assists.
Cornelius played shutdown defense in the Lady Knights' victory over University of Mobile on Saturday. She had 12 defensive rebounds, two steals and two blocks. Her play helped limit the Rams' quality looks and took away second chance scoring opportunities. She ranks eighteenth in the NAIA with 11 blocks.
Amos contributed seven points, four rebounds, a steal and a block in a 62-57 victory over Rust College on Sunday.
Morgan contributed 11 points, four rebounds, an assist and steal against Rust College. Most of her production occurred in the second half, as she dealt with foul trouble in the first.

About the HBCU Athletic Conference
The HBCU Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) is the only HBCU conference in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
