HBCU Athletic Conference reveals 2025 Preseason All-HBCUAC Teams, Rankings
NEW ORLEANS - October 15, 2025 - The Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) presents its 2025 Women's Basketball Preseason All-HBCUAC First and Second Teams and rankings as determined by the conference's head women's basketball coaches on Tuesday.
The head coaches nominated their own returning players and transfers that previously competed in the conference and voted for other institutions' players. Points were derived from the order they ranked the players. Oakwood University's Saniya Keys earned Preseason Player of the Year after dominating the conference as a freshman last season. She led the conference with 19.1 points and 10.9 rebounds per game. Keys won 18 HBCUAC weekly awards. The rest of the First Team and the Second Team is below.

The coaches also voted on the preseason rankings. Stillman College, who won the regular season title and advanced to the semifinals of the HBCUAC 2025 Hope Credit Union Basketball Championship, and Dillard University, who was the regular season runner-up and also reached the semifinals tied for the top spot with 185 points. Stillman received more first-place votes with five to Dillard's two. Philander Smith University, who won the HBCUAC 2025 Hope Credit Union Basketball Championship, finished third with 162 points and two first-place votes. Oakwood University, Rust College, Talladega College, Paul Quinn College, Southern University at New Orleans and the University of the Virgin Islands garnered first-place votes. Fans can catch the action of the 2025-26 season on the Urban Edge Network which can be viewed online at urbanedgenetwork.net or via the free app. For the third straight season, the 2026 Hope Credit Union HBCUAC Basketball Championship will be played at Stillman College's Birthright Alumni Hall.
