2024 Preseason Women's Basketball All-HBCUAC Teams, Team Rankings unveiled
NEW ORLEANS - October 9, 2024 - The Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) releases its 2024 Preseason Women's Basketball All-HBCUAC First and Second Teams and Preseason Team Rankings, as voted on by the conference head women's basketball coaches on Thursday. Points are derived from the order each coach ranks the teams and players.
Standing above the rest of the HBCUAC is Cassidy Lowe of Dillard University as the 2024 Women's Basketball HBCUAC Preseason Player of the Year, accumulating 45 points. She averaged a double-double during conference play last season with 14.2 points and 10.2 rebounds per game and nearly averaged one overall with 11.4 points and nine rebounds per game. Lowe ranked fifth in the conference in rebounds per game and a 48.4 field goal percentage.
Making up the rest of the All-HBCUAC First Team are:
Jordan Harris of Southern University at New Orleans: Averaged 17.2 points per game, which was second in the conference, earned Second Team All-Conference
Jayla Bibbs of Fisk University: Second Team All-Conference selection, lead the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference with 80 steals
Trenisha Adams of Oakwood University: Led the conference with 79 three-pointers, Averaged 12.4 points, five rebounds and 2.8 assists per game
Ari Winston of Philander Smith University: Averaged 11.7 points and 8.6 rebounds per game, named to the All-Tournament Team
Dasia Turner of Philander Smith, Ashukamayah Phillips of the University of the Virgin Islands, Farrah Pearson of Stillman College, La'Daja Caldwell of Talladega College and Morgan Williams of Tougaloo College earned Preseason All-HBCUAC Second Team selections.
The HBCUAC also announced its Preseason Team Rankings which were also determined by the head women's basketball coaches. Philander Smith, which finished as runner-up in the regular season and advanced to the semifinals of the 2024 GCAC Women's Basketball Championship was favored to take the 2024-25 title with 154 points and seven first-place votes. Fisk University, which finished as the tournament runner-up followed with 140 points and two first-place votes. Stillman College, which is a newcomer to the conference finished third with 131 points and a first-place vote. The complete rankings are below.

The Hope Credit Union 2025 HBCU Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Championships will be hosted by Visit Tuscaloosa at Stillman College for the second consecutive season with all 13 schools competing from February 25 until March 2.
