Stillman's Haskins, Lumpkin take first HBCUAC Softball Weekly Honors
NEW ORLEANS - February 11, 2025 - Stillman College's Lauren Haskins wins Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Softball Player of the Week and Avary Lumpkin claims Pitcher of the Week. The ladies were recognized for their performances from January 27 to February 9, the conference announced Tuesday.
Haskins, the 2025 Preseason Player of the Year, hit .615 and stole seven bases in four games. In three games, she recorded multiple steals. Haskins scored four runs and posted a .643 on-base percentage, leading Stillman to two victories. Last season, she earned National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) All-American Third Team and was named the Southern States Athletic Conference Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference.
Lumpkin won her debut in the circle, holding Blue Mountain Christian College to a run on three hits and struck out two, earning her first win. She limited the Lady Toppers to a .130 batting average.
