Wiley's Goldsby, Wilberforce's Howard garner Week 6 HBCUAC Men's Cross Country Awards
NEW ORLEANS - October 7, 2025 - Wiley University men's cross country runner Javoun Goldsby wins Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Runner of the Week. Wilberforce University men's cross country athlete Skyaqui Howard claims Freshman of the Week. The athletes were recognized for their performance between September 29-October 5, the conference announced Tuesday.
Goldsby, the Preseason HBCUAC Runner of the Year, led the Wildcats with a time of 29:41 in the Belhaven Invitational eight-kilometer race on Saturday. The time was his fastest this season. He competed against athletes from the National Collegiate Athletic Association and HBCUAC schools Dillard University and Tougaloo College.
Howard ran 29:48.1 in the Ohio Wesleyan University Invitational 8K race. He competed against NCAA and NAIA athletes. This is Howard's third weekly honor.

The HBCU Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) is the only HBCU conference in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
