Goldsby wins HBCUAC Runner of the Week
NEW ORLEANS - September 2, 2024 - After leading his team at its season-opening meet, Wiley University athlete Javoun Goldsby wins Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for competition which occurred between August 26 and September 1.
Goldsby, the HBCUAC Preseason Men's Cross Country Runner of the Year, will be nominated for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Runner of the Week award, which will be announced on Wednesday. He ran 18:38.21 in the Texas Christian University's John McKenzie Invitational five-kilometer race on Saturday at AP Ranch. He ran at 6:12 mile-pace with most of the near-70 man field coming from National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I schools.
