Championship MVPs Dillard's Myles, Stillman's Johnson take home HBCUAC Men's Track and Field Weekly Awards
SHREVEPORT, La. - April 15, 2025 - Dillard University Markel Myles earn Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week and Stillman College's Christopher Johnson brings home Field Athlete of the Week after claiming the 2025 HBCUAC Track and Field Championship Most Valuable Athlete awards on Saturday at Lee Hedges Stadium.
Myles won the individual titles in the 400-meter hurdles and 800-meter run. He ran a leg on the winning 4 x 400-meter relay team which surpassed the 'B' qualifying standard. He had a podium finish in the 110-meter hurdles. Myles finished the meet with 29.5 points.
Johnson earned the 2025 HBCUAC Championship Most Valuable Field Athlete. He won the discus with a throw of 53.99 meters, which was over 15 meters further than the runner-up. His distance surpassed the 'A' qualifying standard. He won the shot put with a PR 15.17 meters. Johnson holds the second best throw in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics in the discus at 54.78 meters.

About HBCU Athletic Conference
The HBCU Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) is the only HBCU conference in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
