SUNO's Booker, Hicks earn Week 9 HBCUAC Men's Basketball Honors
NEW ORLEANS - Southern University at New Orleans center Dorian Booker wins Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Offensive Player and Newcomer of the Week. Combo guard Jaylon Hicks claims Defensive Player and Freshman of the Week. The men were honored for their performance between December 15-21, the conference announced on Monday.
Booker recorded a double-double with 28 points and 10 rebounds against William Carey University on Thursday. He shot 11-for-15 from the field. Booker moved up to fourth in the conference with 7.9 rebounds per game, fourth in field goal percentage (61.3) and ninth in scoring with 14.5 points per game. This is his fourth weekly honor.
Hicks posted a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds in Thursday's game against William Carey. Twelve of his rebounds were defensive, which was a career-high. He also added five assists and three steals. This is Hicks' sixth weekly honor.

About the HBCU Athletic Conference
The HBCU Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) is the only HBCU conference in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
