Stillman, Tougaloo, SUNO take Week 7 HBCUAC Men's Basketball Honors
NEW ORLEANS - Stillman College forward Dasean Sellers wins Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Offensive Player of the Week. Tougaloo College forward Antonio Patterson captures Defensive Player of the Week. Southern University at New Orleans' win Jaylon Hicks garners Freshman of the Week. Center Dorian Booker earns Newcomer of the Week. The men were honored for their performance between December 1-7.
Sellers averaged 24 points and five rebounds, leading the Tigers to two HBCUAC victories last week. He shot 62.5 percent from the field, hitting 10 of 16 shots. He scored a high of 29 points against Voorhees University on Thursday. He played the whole game against Talladega, putting up 19 points and five rebounds.
Patterson grabbed 20 rebounds with 14 on the defensive end and contributed six steals and three blocks to lead the Bulldogs to two conference victories. He recorded a double-double in Saturday's victory over Paul Quinn College. His performance helped Tougaloo improve to 3-1 in HBCUAC play.
Hicks scored 17 points and stole the ball four times, leading the Knights to an 83-77 victory over Wiley University on Thursday. Both were career highs. For the week, he put up 16 rebounds, three assists and seven steals.
Booker recorded 33 points and 23 rebounds in two games. He recorded a game and season-high 22 points against Philander Smith University on Saturday. Booker played a key role in the Knights dominating the paint with 72 points. He helped them overcome an eight-point deficit in Thursday's win against Wiley.

About the HBCU Athletic Conference
The HBCU Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) is the only HBCU conference in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The HBCUAC membership includes Dillard University (LA), Fisk University (TN), Huston-Tillotson University (TX), Oakwood University (AL), Paul Quinn College (TX), Philander Smith University (AR), Rust College (MS), Southern University at New Orleans (LA), Stillman College (AL), Talladega College (AL), Tougaloo College (MS), University of the Virgin Islands (St. Thomas), Voorhees University (SC), Wilberforce University (OH), and Wiley University (TX).
