Talladega's Guzman, Wiley's Porter claim Week 10 HBCUAC Baseball Weekly Honors
NEW ORLEANS - April 7, 2025 - Talladega College's Isaac Guzman garners Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week and Wiley University's Jalen Porter takes home Pitcher of the Week. The athletes were honored for their performances between March 31-April 6.
Guzman hit 9-for-11 in four games last week, scoring five runs and driving in six. He hit three doubles and had multiple hits in three games, including 7-for-8 against Bryan College. For the week, he posted a .785 on-base percentage and a 1.091 slugging percentage.
Porter dominated in his second straight start. He held the Ambassadors to a run on three hits and struck out 10 for his second straight start with double-digit strikeouts on Friday. Porter pitched his first complete game this season. He improved to 5-3 on the mound and leads the HBCUAC with 73 strikeouts. His performance helped the Wildcats move into second in the HBCUAC standings.

About HBCU Athletic Conference
The HBCU Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) is the only HBCU conference in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
