Talladega's Santana, Wiley's Guillory garner Week 3 HBCUAC Baseball Weekly Honors
NEW ORLEANS - February 18, 2025 - Talladega College outfielder Brigilio Santana wins Historically Black Colleges and Universities Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Baseball Player of the Week and Wiley University pitcher Keyon Guillory claims Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season.
Santana hit two home runs, drove in six runs and batted .625 to lead the Tornadoes to a sweep over Wilberforce University in their opening HBCUAC series. He went 2-for-4 on Friday with a home run, three runs batted in and scored two runs in an 18-6 victory. On Saturday, he went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a home run, scored three runs and drove in three in a 12-2 victory. Santana is hitting .600 in four games and is tied for second in the conference with two home runs.
Guillory recorded his second double-digit strikeout performance of the season with 10 strikeouts and picked up his third win of the season and second complete game. He held the Panthers to one run on one hit. Guillory leads the HBCUAC with a 1.23 ERA and 32 strikeouts and is tied for the lead with three wins.
